On Wednesday, 26 June, during a media conference held at The UWI Regional Headquarters in Jamaica, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles announced The UWI’s approval for the establishment of a new campus in Antigua and Barbuda, to be officially known as the Five Islands Campus. In his remarks he noted, “In addition to serving the specific development needs of Antigua and Barbuda, it will provide a hub to enable greater participation by The University of the West Indies in the development agendas of the OECS.”
