NEW YORK, NY, (August 6, 2026) – H.E. Dr. Mutryce A. Williams, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations, was recently recognized by H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, for her distinguished service and leadership as co-facilitator of one of the General Assembly’s most significant institutional processes, the United Nations General Assembly Revitalization Process.
The recognition was given during a luncheon hosted by President Baerbock in honour of the co-facilitators who supported key General Assembly processes during the 80th Session. The event acknowledged the critical role played by Member States and diplomats whose leadership helped advance dialogue, consensus, and efforts to strengthen the effectiveness of the United Nations.
Ambassador Williams serves as co-facilitator of the General Assembly Revitalization Process alongside Ambassador Cornel Feruta of Romania, a role that places her at the center of efforts to enhance the efficiency, relevance, and authority of the General Assembly; the principal deliberative, policymaking, and representative organ of the United Nations.
The Revitalization Process is among the most consequential ongoing discussions within the General Assembly, as Member States seek to ensure that the Organization remains responsive and capable of addressing an increasingly complex global landscape. The process is particularly significant during this period of reflection on the future direction of the United Nations, including the upcoming selection of the next Secretary-General, where confidence in strong institutions, effective governance, and transparent multilateral processes remains essential.
As co-facilitator, Ambassador Williams plays an important role in guiding consultations, encouraging engagement among Member States, bridging diverse perspectives, and supporting efforts to build consensus on strengthening the United Nations system. The role requires diplomatic judgment, impartiality, and the ability to navigate complex institutional issues among the membership of the world’s largest multilateral organization.
