Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis, Nov 2, 2026 (SKNIS) – St. Kitts and Nevis is gearing up to host Fostering the Future Together: The Caribbean Summit, bringing together regional leadership, expertise and partnerships to help prepare Caribbean children and young people for a rapidly evolving digital world.
Scheduled for November 13–14, 2026, at the St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort, Casino & Spa in Frigate Bay, the summit is being led by First Lady of St. Kitts and Nevis, Mrs. Diani Prince-Drew, under the theme “Empowering Caribbean Children for the Digital Age.”
The summit will bring together First Spouses of the Caribbean Community, government leaders, experts and partners to consider how the region can better equip its children and young people to navigate and benefit from technological change. Discussions will explore digital education and skills, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, online safety, access to technology, and opportunities for strengthened regional and international collaboration.
The event is centred on four pillars: EdTech Tools; AI in Education; Safety & Protection Online; and Digital Literacy. Together, these pillars address both the opportunities technology offers and the support children, educators and parents need to use it effectively and responsibly.
For Caribbean families, these issues are already part of daily life, from how children learn and find information to how they interact online. The summit will provide an opportunity to examine practical approaches to improving learning, widening access and helping young people participate safely and confidently in the digital world.
The Federation’s hosting of the event was announced by United States First Lady Mrs. Melania Trump on September 22, during a gathering of the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. Mrs. Trump recognised First Lady Prince-Drew for stepping forward to organise the Caribbean meeting and expressed her support.
By hosting the Caribbean Summit, St. Kitts and Nevis will help advance regional cooperation to ensure that children have the skills, protection and opportunities to thrive in the digital age.
