As of Saturday, February 13, 2021 the Federation has confirmed one additional case ofcoronavirus disease. The national landed in the Federation on January 30, 2021 from the UnitedStates of America (USA). The patient has been in quarantine at one of the COVID-19 certifiedhotels since arrival. The patient was duly notified and is now in isolation. This additional case brings the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases to 41 with 29cases for St. Kitts and 12 cases for Nevis. BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, February 15, 2021 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – St. Kitts and Nevis received its first two thousand (2,000) doses of COVID-19 vaccines last week, and by the end of this month the Federation is expected to receive an additional 21,600 doses as a result of its participation in the COVID-19 Global Access (COVAX) Facility. Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 12, 2021 (SKNIS): St. Kitts & Nevis’ Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Hazel Laws, said that the procurement in the first instance of 21, 600 doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine, will provide coverage for 20 percent of the national population. Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ambassador Irwin LaRocque expressed profound thanks to the Honourable Mia Mottley Prime Minister of Barbados for her provision of Covid-19 vaccines for the staff of the CARICOM Secretariat.
