5 February 2021, Basseterre, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis – The EasternCaribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is offering high school and college students from its eightmember countries, the opportunity to express their creativity through art with the openingof its 2021 Creative Youth Competition (CYC). The CYC, formerly the OECS Essay Competition, was launched in collaboration with theRegional Security System Asset Recovery Unit (RSS-ARU) in 2018. 5 February, Basseterre, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis – The Eastern Caribbean CentralBank (ECCB) is projecting that the polymer five-dollar note will be released by the end of March. The ECCB launched its family of EC polymer notes in May 2019 with the new $50. The $100, $20and $10 have since been issued. The release of the five-dollar, which was initially projected forSeptember 2020, has been delayed due to a decrease in demand for the note. As of Thursday, February 4, 2021 the Federation has confirmed one additional case ofcoronavirus disease. The international traveler landed in the Federation on January 30, 2021from the United States of America (USA). The patient has been in quarantine at one of theCOVID-19 certified hotels since arrival. The patient was duly notified and is now in isolation.This additional case brings the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases to 40 with 28cases for St. Kitts and 12 cases for Nevis. Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 05, 2021 (RSCNPF): The Violent Crime Unit is investigating an officer-involved shooting incident that occurred in Sandy Point on January 30, 2021. Sometime after 4 p.m. on Saturday, a man contacted the Sandy Point Police Station. He reported that his neighbour had beaten his 7-year-old son and requested assistance. The Police responded.
